  • Appearance: It’s very deep, a real dark purple.

Nose: Medium strength with aromas of cranberries, red cherry, strawberry pie, tobacco, and rose. There is a distinct custard smell to this, which makes me think that it was oaked.

Palate: This wine is very dry, with medium acidity and high tannins. The body is medium-high, with flavors of cherry, strawberry, asparagus. If you can imagine yourself drinking a liquid-form of potpourii…this wine would be what you’re drinking. The length is quite good, as it lingers in your mouth around fifteen seconds or so.

Overall: This wine needs a lot of time to soften. If drunk now, it must go with food. The balance is very good, and the tannin structure is such that this could age for at least a few years.

    I give this a 91.
