Community Tasting Notes (9) Median Score: 88 points

  • The wine is clear and bright with a medium lemon colour.

The nose is clean and developing, showing medium(+) intensity aromas of oak (vanilla, cedar, walnut), MLF (cream), green fruit (ripe quince) and stone fruit (ripe peaches).

The wine is off-dry in the mouth with a medium acidity. It has a medium(+) alcohol and a full body. It has medium(+) intensity flavours of oak (vanilla, cedar, walnut), MLF (cream), green fruit (ripe quince) and stone fruit (ripe peaches). The finish is medium(+).

It is a very good quality wine. It has a persistent finish and concentrated flavours in balance with the alcohol. However a better example of this style would be even more complex.

Can drink now, but it has some acidic structure and enough fruit concentration to develop some tertiary aromas over the next 2-3 years.

  • Consistent with earlier note. A bit more age in the nose now, but not too much, the wine is still holding up well. Hint's of petrol, almost like an old Riesling. A Chardonnay to the heavy side but still with balancing acidity left.

  • Very nice chardonnay with a bit of age. Oak level pleasant and not too dominant. Clear signs of age in the nose, some old butter and hazel nuts. Fantastsic price/quality.

  • Baked apple/pear, fresh citrus, distant butterscotch nose. Mature palate, baked apple, initially sweet but midpalate transitions to drier spice/caramel notes. Nicely balanced, soft and easy-drinking.

  • Clear, medium lemon green. Nose of medium + intensity that is still developing. Typical chard apples (fresh & baked), nuts & later peaches. oaky smoke and butter together with some malolactic caramel cream. Dry, medium acidity, medium + body & alcohol. Intense palate mirroring nose with some extra yeasty / biscuity elements. Lovely Aussie chard, very good.
