Crisp, fresh, medium body, intense fruits, vanilla, oak, slight buttery. Got some zesty bitterness & mineral finish. med+ length finish. Its satisfying. Got lots of acidity left, probably several years life left. Last bottle though. Good buy @ C$25

Slightly darker pale yellow, no sign over aged. Surprisingly refreshing, yet a chablis feel, good amount of intense fruit, vanilla oak med intensity, nice minerals taste & feel, med to long finish. My opinion that its got some 2-3 years ahead as none of its characteristic seems faded. For C$25, and a wine with some age to it, its good in my books.

As bargain Aussie Chards go this one is a pleasant surprise. Penfolds has clearly brought their lower labels up the quality ladder. While this lacks some of the body of a better Margaret River chard, it is still surprisingly good. Aromas and flavors of grapefruit and white peach with enough oak to allow it to linger on the palate. Halliday's 94 may be a bit over-generous but it's better to my taste than the US reviewers would allow.
