  • Dark red color. Nose of dried cherry, sweet tobacco, pine forest, wet earth with an herbal note and a hint of spice. Nice tartness, integrated tannins, silky body. Long smooth finish. There is a depth, richness, and complexity to this wine that is just stunning. Honestly this wine has blown away my perceptions of what village level Burgundy can be.

  • Amazing deep red color. Gevrey nose up the wazoo. Marzipan, pipe tobacco, ripe black cherries, lavender, pine tree, pine sap, eucalyptus, crushed raspberries, crushed ripe blue berries, licorice, banana, new leather, this nose goes on and on. Drinking cherries, crushed mint, nice acidity, blackberries, tannin, slight oak, gripping austere. All contained - reined in into a nice package. This is a serious lower end 2009 Bourgogne is just now opening up. This sat in my glass for an hour before I got to it. Still young wine.

  • Beautiful and full. Very well balanced wine. Drinking beautifully at the moment. Would drink now if you like fruit. Leave if you prefer more secondary flavours.

  • Very good but still a way young wine. I see someone drank this in 2012 and said it's ready to drink. That I don't get. Sitting here 4 years later and it's not ready yet. Again very good but will be much better in a few years. It's been in my glass for hours and still tight with red semi ripe fruits/berries. Acidic bite with a really rich but faint backdrop. Even green apple and lemon on the nose, together with the usual Gevrey notes, nice spice, almond marzipan nose. Really happy I have 3 more but won't revisit for a year or two. Imagine this would be 93-94 at some point.

  • These 09 burgs are drinking well young.. Earth, red fruit and spice. This wine has a great silky mouthfeel that completely coats your palate. Well done. It has the structure to age for a decade or more but can be enjoyed today. Cheers
