The last bottle (about 4 months earlier) faded after about 3 hours (following a 45 minute decant) - so this was a pop & pour. Funny, but it did need about 1/2 hour to come into its own :). This really sparkled: expressive nose, lush, dark fruit on the palate, and grippy tannins. I would say that this is in a great drinking window right now. A very well made wine, best shared with people who are special to you.
Decanted about 45 minutes. Enjoyed over about 3 hours. Big, inviting nose promising a very rich wine. Lush and fruit forward. The one zonk is that the last glass became a bit oxidized on the finish. Maybe this means no decant on the next bottle?

Deep garnet red with a slightly transparent rim around the top of the pour. Wonderful nose consisting of mocha, coffee, ripe figs, licorice, tar and pencil shavings. Enjoyable balance of tannins and acidity that rewarded time in the cellar. Layers of mocha, toast, black peppercorns, black currant, mint, figs and blueberries. A very enjoyable wine with excellent balance, mouthfeel and finish.

This was the star of the night, Decanted for 2 hours, Tannins are very Soft, Dark Black Inky in the Glass, Full Bodied and Big, Lots of Dark Fruit on the Pallet, Cherry, Raspberry, Tobacco and Spice. Mocha, Vanilla, and some Spice on the Nose. Wish this wasn't my last bottle it was so good.

In a good place right now. Full bodied with lots of dark fruit, cassis, chocolate, licorice and spice.
