Friends and I tasted this at the Woodinville tasting room on 6/2/12. It had a rich, elegant bouquet of smoke, cassis, mocha and spice aromas. The palate was smooth and tasty, but lacked depth...flavors of black currant, black cherry, mocha and spice.

This wine took a little while to open up (3 days, to be exact)
On the first day, I was greeted with an inviting nose of smoked bacon and black cherries.
The taste, on the other hand, was medium bodied at best and somewhat dominated by an orange juice-like acidity - it seemed really young.
Second day things seemed to be integrating a little better, but the orange-juice tartness was still there.
On day three, things filled out a bit and the nose started taking on a leather, tobacco and baking spices quality where the taste became more "plummy" with the body becoming much fuller and the wine being more satisfying overall (it was drinking good at this point).
For the record, I refrigerated the wine with a vac seal each night between tastings.
I would either lay this down for a year or more, or if you need to drink it now, decant for at least several hours.

The predominant aromas of chocolate, caramel and coconut made me feel like I was about to bite into a German Chocolate cake! Very intriguing. Medium body on the palate, and a little light on flavor I have to say. That led to a somewhat short finish - I was expecting a little more from this wine.

Wow, still has loads of flavor with a monster finish. Great with the pork shoulder

This one is ready to go now. Rich cherry and chocolate tones. Starting to show a touch of oxidation but opens up nicely after about 45 mins.
