Exuberant exotic fruit aromas, peach, apricot, melon, honey, lavender. Hedonist material, as always. But hurry up, because the counterbalancing citric tones are waning.

One of the best Durban so far. Perfectly balanced, complex, measured by sweet wine standards. Honey, melon, orange and apricot, with a citric frame providing freshness. Perfect pairing with our fruit tart (mirabelles).

I regularly buy this wine from the beautifully located property in the Provence. Although Durban is fairly regular in quality, I particularly liked this 2009, which is very balanced and (almost) delicate - at least by the scale of a sweet wine. The nose is immediately submerged by honey, melon, orange and apricot, mirrored in the mouth, rounded by the right dose of citric nervousness to ovoid oversaturation of your palate. Perfect accord with our lemon/lime pie.

15% alcohol. From a half bottle. Pale golden colour. The nose has lost its fresh exuberant grapey aspect to turn into something much more restrained, slightly medicinal but still pleasant. The mouth is better, with good energy and balance; slightly perfumey, which is not unusual. Good vivacious finish. The alcohol protrudes more now that there is no lush fruit to hide it. This should have been consumed five years ago, but it is still enjoyable, although much of the original vibrancy is gone.

Exuberant exotic fruit aromas, peach, apricot, melon, honey, lavender, and some flowery note in the background. Wonderful pairing with our apple pie.
