Enjoyable $20 pinot and if Burgundy is your thing, it's got that cachet. Not hugely mushroomy or earthy, but also not overwooded as can happen at this price, and not a mouth-puckering load of vinegar. (Guess my history with Burgundy is pretty checkered.) More OR than RRV, definitely a little sweet in with the savory, but not a fruit bomb. Easy to finish with roast chicken dinner what with the balanced acids and the low alcohol.

Very enjoyable, with somewhat more fruit / sugar than is typical of the region's pinots while retaining degree of delicacy (only 12% alcohol). Berries early on, a little acidity at the finish as a surprise.

Medium ruby. Earth and red/black fruit. Medium weight, certainly not slight like some wines from the nearby red wine villages. Blackberry, some herbal elements, late arriving acidity that is especially notable for an '09. Admirable mouthful for this appellation, but in the end, nothing special.

Really good solid pinot to rival the fuller new world style. Nothing dilute or green here. Lovely secondary savoury notes to go with ripe cherry and dried raspberry fruits.
