This was surprisingly good. It was a leftover from a trip to Healdsburg in probably 2010. My wife and I have both shifted away from the Selby style of wine in the ensuing years, but we found this bottle, and CellarTracker said it was already over the hill. We thought we'd pop it and see what it was like.
We were both glad we did. It tasted fresh, not too hot, and nicely balanced. I suspect having a little bit of age muted the overbearing jamminess I remember from this wine when it was young. Your mileage may vary, but it gave me hope for some of the other random fruit bombs I know are still buried away in our cellar.
