PNP at Lalique Buttered popcorn, pleasant acidity with tropical fruits and oyster shell. A delicate wine as compared to the younger LeFlaive Batard served alongside. Fresh, no oxidation 2 hours in, Granny Smith apples with caramel

This lacked a bit of freshness, and the acid was lighter than I recalled, but it remained a splendid Burg, with chiffon flavors and some butter, precise and seamless.

Epic, deeply perfumed with aromas of honeyed orchard fruit, mineral, toasted nuts and spice. The palate is unctuous with complex and bright flavors. Grand Cru like.

Some Special Bottles for a Friend's (Almost) 50th (Home and Zoomland): A sensational bottle, from the first sip to the last. Barely edged out by the 2004 Corton-Charlemagne served alongside it, but that is more a matter of taste preferences than anything dispositive. Sweet hazelnut and tropical fruit nose, maybe some bananas too. Warm and enveloping aromas, daring you not to sip. A ideal balance of fruit notes and that nuttiness on the palate, with bright acidity and a very round, lengthy finish.

Fine, floral nose. Lemon, but of toffee on finish, minerals, great mid palette.
