Decanted two hours, too tart to consume, strong vanilla overtones. Re-poured back into the bottle and will cellar overnight hoping for some improvement. Day 2 - No improvement with alcohol being prominent. Writing this one off as a bad bottle.

Broke this out with chili on day one (paired well), but these notes are day two without food. Nose is deep and concentrated dark fruit including black currant and blackberry jelly with a little toasted oak. The robust palate has an excellently lucsious mouthfeel with more dark fruit. Soft tannins at this point in its evolution. I think I can go "outstanding" since i've had some very uninteresting fruity zins lately. This is much more structured, layered and complex. Great woot buy at $18.

Food-friendly zin, bramble-blueberry flavors, medium to light body. Decent finish but nothing special. Good value, and while it stood up to steaks was also fine as a glass of wine red after dinner.

Decanted for about 30 minutes and it tasted great. Very full-bodied and flavorful.

Slightly tart flavor. Seems to have more flavor than the Old Vine.
