  • It seems like this wine has some mixed reviews, but we felt like it was a solid offering. I'm usually not big on sav blanc, and she is not really a chardonnay drinker, but we both liked this $10 bottle.

Color was a pretty pale yellow with a green tint. The mouthfeel was medium viscosity with a slightly oily quality to it. The nose was earthy, with notes of moist stone, earth, and mild greens. This was a great showing of the two varietals, and, interestingly, came out somewhat like a pinot gris without the fruitiness. The palette was bright and citrusy earlier and developed some heat later, followed by a nice mineral finish.

The heat/alcohol came out more as this wine warmed up, so it really would not be good with spicy food or on a really hot day. The prominent alcohol is what kept this wine solidly in "good" territory; if this were kept in check better it would have been easy to give this wine an 87 or 88.

  • Nice nose of green apple and apricot. Very light profile. Too much so lacking in aciidty and flavour. It's drinkable and I bougth it hapf price but would be very disappointed at rrp.
