Drank right this after a Lagier-Meredith of the same vintage...(which got a 92 from me over dinner). Served with a grilled marinated Sirloin. Solid palate, just a tad weak on the follow-through compared with the L-M...but very good vis-a-vis other Paso Syrahs. Follow-up after 2 hours...This compared nicely against the L-M after a whiie...might be missing the mid-palate, but very nice. worth thst 89...plus.

Forrest floor, mushrooms, and an earthy quality dominate, not nearly as fruit forward as the 93. More restrained and similar to a decent Northern Rhone in style.

Fantastic wine. Ready and showing well. Iron fist in a velvet glove.
