Napa & Sonoma Trip (Dunn, O'Shaughnessy, Conn Valley, Seavey, TOR, Jemrose, Hansel); 7/23/2012-7/26/2012: A very rich, dense wine, with blackberry, black currant, and dark cherry fruit, that is very smooth and approachable now, with sweet tannins that are not overbearing at all and will not require much time, rather just a little air right now. Low to medium acidity and full body, with a focused fruit profile and a long finish of about 45 secs. A lush New World wine that drinks very well alone or with a nice steak (paired very well with NY Strip). Had nice balance for a wine of its size and ripeness, and almost no heat on the finish. This is the winemaker for Jemrose, whose owner generously shared this wine with me.
