Translucent garnet-purple. A-Blackberries, hint of blueberry, brambles, earth, a bit of garrigue and kirsch. P- Blackberry, cherry, earth, bark. Nice acids and grippy tannins. Starts to shut down ~1 hr after being opened. Still, nice finish w a bit of heat. Rustic but w real character.

Drank this a while ago. So good. Mellow but still with richness and minerality. Elegant but with substance. Blue/black fruits with minerals, kirsch and garrrigue. Nicely done.

There's a real Jekyll and Hyde quality to the notes here -- and I kinda get it, as this wine was a moving target all night. Mostly, I seem to have gotten the Jekyll: overall I'd call this a delicious, classic Rhone juice with great QPR. Drank over four hours, though, and every half hour seemed to show a very different wine. (N.b.: I would have guessed it to be a 2007, and not an 08 -- drinks big, juicy, and hot.)
Didn't decant. It drank deliciously out of the bottle; got and stayed hot 30-60 minutes in; then blew off a bit and evened out. Some tannic grip. Mid-weight on the palate. Non-specific red fruit. And there's almost an herbal honey quality on the very back, as if a bit of thyme got in the honey jar and got reduced along with the berries. Satisfied at 18 a pop -- for those of you that got it for 6 (?!) at Premier Cru I curse you kindly.
An aside: I think this still has gas in the tank. If I had more I'd happily cellar it for another year or two.

Iron, berries, and a meaty note in the aromas and flavors. Less taste of soil than the last bottle.

The bottle a year ago was impressive. This one was flat and uninteresting. Red wine. Drinkable, but boring.
