  • This wine gets a 90 for the QPR. Decanting at least 90" prior to serving does much for this wine.

  • 14.5% a.b.v. Color is dark purple. Medium viscosity legs. Initial nose is SULFUR! More sulfur, and then... a little more. After a few hours of decanting, the sulfur blows off, and your left with some nice Southern Rhone fruit: lavander, black pepper and hot tar. Fortunately the sulfur doesn't carry through to the palate. The initial palate is broad with lush fruit. The mid palate tightens up nicely with a great balance of fine-grained tannins, acidity and more ripe fruit. There's an interesting cinnamon thing on the finish (I doubt this wine sees any oak) that adds another intersting layer to the picture. The finish is rather short, with some metallic/green notes that take away from the overall pretty picture. However, all-in-all a great q.p.r. bottle.

  • A mishmash of almost candied strawberry flavors and minerally notes. Hasn't really come together at this point. Relatively high acidity.
