Popped this one for our friends’ third kid and us running a half marathon. It was pretty ready. Tons of sediment in the bottle. Tannins were more in balance. Nice cassis and dark fruit but not overpowering. A bit of a velvety texture, but not as much as I’d like. Honestly there was nothing wrong with it, but there was nothing sensational either. If this is still in your cellar, I think it’s at its Apogee to be honest.
Also, our bottle had no browning at all. And this was not stored ideally for about 8 years, maybe more (just in a basement).
Opened about 30 minutes before dinner. It was lovely with NY striploin.
