Found a nice - if overpriced - cellar on gaya island in sabah Malaysia. Short decant. Medium ruby to Tawny color. Very typical Barolo nose with roses, Mediterranean herbs, dried cherries, and some sweet black pepper. Med- acidity, med body, med alcohol, Med flavor intensity, dry tannins, med finish. Deep into tertiary notes with mushroom, truffles, sous bois, dried herbs and cherries and a lingering salinity. I quite like this style but the peak has past. Time to drink up for sure.

Popped and poured, drank over next three hours. First reaction was the amazing nose - just a perfect example of Barolo from a great vineyard... the licorice/anise, roses, a bit of leather and tar, all in the perfect quantities such that no one quality overpowered the other. On the palette it was extremely clean and smooth, good firm tannins but soft enough to combine with the finish to make it balanced all the way through. This is drinking very well right now, although I would fully expect additional complexity with age.
