  This bottle showed better than my previous tasting in 1998. Good density of fruit, with a mendium finish.

  A year and a half since my last tasting and I have one more bottle to go. A lighter style overall, but it held together rather well. Some good fruit at the very beginning, but this seemed to blow off quickly, yet the wine continued to build and develop for several hours, and five hours later, it was tasting its bet yet. A bit sour with a nose of cedar and pencil shavings, some earth and light leather. Lots of sediment. Medium weight in the mouth, again with a mouth puckering sour cherry profile in the mouth, resolved tannins and a shot, smooth finish. The acidity of this wine is what stood out for me, much more than I remembered in my previous tasting. I’ll wait a few years to try the last bottle.
