  • Showing nicely - still great acid and fruit. Lovely with the lamb course at Lazy Bear. A very special and sentimental bottle.

  • Received as a gift on my 21st bday and has been stored horribly between then and, oh, 5 years ago. Don't give 21 year olds good wine, they'll put it on top of the refrigerator.
Got a Coravin for my bday this year so decided to try a glass. The cork had definitely leaked at some point but had re-hydrated since then. Brick red color. The nose was very cozy and warming, with just the slightest hint of basalmic starting to creep in. On the palate the tannins were more present than expected but still quite soft. Some menthol notes in the finish. Acid was creeping over the hill into acetic but after a moment the VA burned off and it became overall an enjoyable drinking experience. Incredible amount of sediment made it through the needle.

  • 30 yrs old. Cork wet to top w slight leak and fill just at shoulder and neck. Color suggests much more youthful wine, and nose is somewhere between primary and secondary, but the oak and tannin structure suggest this is more on the youthful side. There is serious fruit density here and although there is significant tannin structure the tannin is fairly well integrated and tolerable. This has life ahead. Will save last bottle for 40th anniversary

  • Purchased upon release for $20.00 and been in the cellar ever since. Noticed the fill level had dropped to shoulder level so I decided to drink it. Deep garnet color in glass with obvious bricking. Soft fruit with dusty tannins on palate. Aging gracefully. Better than expected given low fill level. Some sediment. Drink up!

  • Developed tertiary nose of leather, wood, some green pepper. Mid body, tannin was resolved, finish was relatively short to what the nose suggested, decently balanced

(Newton Cabernet Sauvignon Unfiltered) Group's #1 (my #3) – 57 pts; 3 firsts, 2 seconds, 3 thirds, 0 last places – bricking medium dark red violet color; mature, tobacco, tart currant nose; intense, focused, ripe currant, tobacco palate with medium acidity and tight grip; medium-plus finish (did improve a lot over time in the glass)
