Tasted blind. Thought this had roussane characteristics with oily florals and honey. Thought the palate was medium-bodied with smoked minerals, vanilla, honey and florals. Turned out to be a Virginia chardonnay....

Linden Spring Release; 4/30/2011-5/1/2011 (Linden, VA): Notes from a small taste at the Barrel Tasting. This is a different chard than I am used to from Jim due to most of it being from the Avenius Cuvegg experiment. The minerality is there, but it is closer to chalkiness than anything else along with pineapple and some citrus.
