In Vino Veritas (in wine there is truth; people speak the truth when they are drunk), another bottle of my cellar sacrifices.
A special magnum of wine for a special celebration for one of our dear friends. She has been a wine club member longer than us, and we joined her in the club shortly after moving to Atlanta.
We began with a Pol Roger champagne (claimed to be Churchill’s favorite), brought by another dear friend and Wine Club member, so we were off to a good start. The food was outstanding and we cracked the signed mag of 2000 Gemstone cab, at that point. Having sat for 21 years in the bottle, all traces of tannins were gone, and it went down very smoothly. It still had an abundance of black fruit, structure, and balance, so everyone seemed to enjoy it. Good friends, good food and special wine for a special celebration, you can’t ask anymore than that! 🍷🍷🍷👍👍👍 #wine #winelover #winelovers #redblend #redblendwine #napawine #napa #napavalley #cabernetsauvignon #cabernet, #gemstonewine, #gemstonewines, #gemstonewinery

Similar notes as tasting of two years ago. Blackberries, black cherries, black currants, with some leather and earthiness. An elegant wine with medium to full body. nice complexity and a long finish.
