  • Not corked like previous bottle thankfully. Enjoyed this but drank alongside the 2016 which had more going on and liked more.

  • 2010 Tour St Bonnet Cru Bourgeois

    Cellared since purchase
    Second of 3 bottles
Coravined Sept 21, 2023; Opened Sept 22, and drank over two nights
Deep red in the glass to the rim. Nose of cherry fruit, wet earth and tobacco. The palate was a medium to full-bodied with savory cherry fruit, and good acidity, producing notable freshness. The wine was complex changing in the glass over each hour in the glass and a 10+ second finish.
This is a consistently good Cru Bourgeois with a great QPR , which has put on considerable weight since my last bottle in 2019. It is delicious. The wine is drinking really well now, and likely won't has 4 to 6 years of pleasurable drinking ahead.

  • PNP whilst decanting half the bottle. The decanted wine revealed much more of the TSB style and traits that I was expecting, though it didn't really come into its stride until the 3-hour mark. When it did, redcurrants, earth and chewy, thick tannins came to the fore. This is drinking beautifully now and, in my opinion, represents one of the best value Bordeaux's available. Lovely.

  • Sixth of twelve from a case purchased at retail. (The fourth and fifth bottles were not much good and very similar to this one, although this was a bit better than the last bottle).

A bit more fruit here, but it seemed faded and thin, and the alcohol was showing through with a vodka-shot finish (this is becoming this wine’s hallmark, unfortunately). After a night in the fridge under vacuum, the balance was better and the fruit seemed a little more robust, but it was also falling apart. 14% ABV (poor; below average/*/13.5/83)
