No formal notes taken at this time, I remember a medium body with very concentrated and mature fruit, good to drink on the week, nothing memorable about it

Nose is quite dark for a beaujolais, red fruits with hints of licorice. Again, a whiff of VA, but not as bad as the 2005 from yesterday. A bit of spice on the nose as well. Palate has juicy fruit, a bit of wood, a tart finish of cranberries. Hint of tannins at the end. Overall, better than yesterday's 2005. Very drinkable and enjoyable, but I think I need to try fresher examples of beaujolais.

I am always charmed by beaujolais village and cru wines. I am not sure what the price on this was but it was a decent example -- the cherry tart nose, the sweet spiciness, the ruby toastiness. It was light on the palate and short on the finish. Charming but not all that great an example of the field. If it was $12 I would buy it again. At $15 its over priced.

Gamay not not that great of a gamay. So for $17 I think it is a bit overdone.
