Cork fell into the bottle as I tried to put the cork-screw in. Bad sign, but at least the cork did not crumble. Decided to decant and as it poured out, the gould was a nutty brown, but no bad smell of oxidised wine. First taste was promising. There was still refreshing acidity and some caramal fruit. Finishe was a bit bitter, but hey, this was an old wine. After 20 min or so the wine had grown considerably and the finish was now long and fine. Sweet, with narely sugar and a bit of richness still, this was a lovely and very surprising wine. Actually a bit too exotic for the chicken, so I put the decanter in the fridge and it came back out for desert 2 hours later in even better shape than before. Lovely experience and probably the best 47 Gewurtz I'll ever try
