Two years since my last bottle. So good, and exactly what I want in mature red burgundy. In that perfect spot of youthful and complex, deep yet ephemeral. Towards the end of the case have been drinking over the years, but this still surprised on the upside and wasn’t far off from a stunning ‘90 Bonnes Mares recently. A real treat.

Four years since my last bottle, this has matured nicely, rounding out some of the edges and evolving well into secondary development. Classic Bertheau transparency and purity of fruit with silky mouthfeel and nice complexity.

edit... 12/23/2014: Side by side with the 95 Bonnes Some debate within the group about which was was preferred. Both were in the pure, transparent style of Bertheau. One might argue that the Bonnes mares was a bit deeper, while the charmes was more linear. Single blind to me, I didn't know which was which. Double blind to everyone else, nobody guessed that they were remotely related. (0 views)

Overall, consistent with my last bottle, though very interesting single blind alongside the 97 BM. This is younger, more crystalline, and pure. A bit edgy and still needs a little time, but is very good and should get a bit better.

Great showing - mature but still very much in the zone.
