  A fair amount of mold on top of the cork but otherwise the cork came out beautifully with a good pop and no seepage at all. Gorgeous nose of red berry fruit and rose petals and lavendar and cinnamon, and a hint of orange citrus, with no signs at all of the roasted fruit character of the vintage. Surprisingly undeveloped, with just a hint of that foresty/mushroom character. Almost weightless in the mouth, airy red fruit but complete through the midpalate. The tannins are mostly resolved, and while there's still enough structure to give the shape, the tannins are seamlessly integrated. There's not grand cru power here, this is much more a wine of subtlety and elegance than power. Long finish with an odd twinge of citrusy acidity. Enthralling wine.
