Nice, and still quite fresh (it is under screwcap, after all), so no rush to drink this one. A pinot-blanc-ey nose. Kinda burgundian, even, really. Some slight petrol on the palate but it's minor. Good mineral lift to it, with a moderate finish, maybe even a touch of heat. I liked this a lot, especially on the second day. 12.5%, imported by Domaine Select.

Austrian Riesling Wine Tasting (City Winery - Chicago, IL): Straightforward, yummy riesling. Has nice fruit, good acidity and a floral nose. For me, this lacked the exoticism necessary to move this in the upper echelon of rieslings.

I like this. Not terribly complex, but enough so to make it interesting, and enough acidity and minerality make it a good food wine. Light straw in color. Rubber nose that mostly burns off with air to reveal some white flower, honeysuckle, apricot, bread, and a little wet grass. Medium bodied with a bit of a viscous mouth feel, and notes of peach, apricot, lemon peel, and minerals, with medium acidity and a light finish. Kinda wish I'd gotten more than 3 bottles, as I could easily drink this once or twice a week with seafood and lighter fare. Paired well tonight with seared scallops.

Nice petrol nose, medium bodied, balanced, paired well with spicy Asian. Easy to drink as it wasn't very challenging.

The last bottle of a six-pack. A nice entry level dry Riesling with good cut and focus, although it could use more sap and length. Nice food wine.
