  • Luscious! I was a little concerned that this may have been past it's time but it was delicious ! Rich, dark, silky, filled with dark fruit aromas and flavors. There was a "heft" to this wine and paired very well with a spicy arabiatta sauce and pasta.

This was exactly as expected and what I recall from prior bottles. A real solid, excellent drinking wine.

  • This definitely improved with age. It was delicious and well worth the $16 I paid for this very nice Tuscan wine.

  • Half way through a six bottle case, we like this wine more and more. Drinking well now six years into its life. Better with food - went well with both pasta and grilled steak. Purple colored, modest nose. Medium to full bodied, acidity and fruit nicely balanced and reasonably complex (40% sangiovese and 25% syrah). Tannins have a good grip in the finish without being excessive. A solid wine for the price, maturing nicely.

  • 40% Sangiovese, 25% Alicante, 25% Syrah, 10% Carignan. Deep ruby without bricking; nose has blueberry, forest floor, moderate intensity; palate is medium-bodied at first and lacking in fruit, but some structure and density kicks in through the midpalate with slight blueberry and black fruit, fades again towards the finish, medium alcohol; short finish with slight bitterness. Not a bad effort and the blend seemed interesting, but overall it needs more density of fruit and flavor to be truly enjoyable. Not sure that age will help it develop anything interesting. 80
90 minutes air: The palate has definitely fleshed out a tad and has a bit more flavor, but it still fades towards the finish. Decent, but not worth seeking out. 82

  • Italian wine tasting at local retailer: Dark garnet, forest floor and herbs, generous dark fruit, blueberry, medium tannins. Finish could be longer but a nice wine.
