14.0% abv. Dark garnet/cherry color, sweet red fruit on nose. Drinking exceptionally well now, very fruit but light/restrained enough that clove, spice cake and some herbaceous notes still compete for dominance. Silky smooth, minimal tannin, med plus for Pinot mouthfeel. Ready to drink on pnp.

This shows how this type of wine can age -- and age well. The brightness has mellowed. Soft fruit, cherries and oak with a hint of clove -- simple, good and unmistakable CA pinot from WS. It finishes by showing tannins, acid and fruit that have aged, integrated and softened nicely.

After a 2007 Scherrer last week and this one last night, I don't think I'm opening a Cali pinot younger than 10 years of age. This was excellent. All the baby fat melted away and the oak integrated. Still just a little sweet, but a lovely crowd pleaser w/ Thanksgiving dinner.

absolutely in the zone. Vibrant fruit, with depth and secondary and tertiary flavors evident.

No notes really taken but I remember it as being in a nice phase starting to mature or even at peak. Balanced impresson.
