The 2010 Cathiard Vosne Romanee En Orveaux is maturing gracefully, offering a subtle touch of tertiary note behind a fragrant array of mixed berries, rose petal and subtle new oak. Well-integrated and sophisticated. A classic producer and recognisable in blind tasting. My guess: 2010 Vosne Romanee 1er Cru. Drink now - 2032. (91/100)

Last had this in 2021 alongside a series of Cathiard 1er Cru and it delivered in spades. Great again. Showed signature juicy palate I associate with Sylvians wines. But very elegant. A coolness to the wine. Red fruits on the palate. Cranberry, pomegranate. Fine and integrated tannins. A touch more open and elegant than the Suchots for most of the evening.

Pompette Salon 酌樂 Series X: Opened 2h before serving. Brilliant. Lively with candid strawberry, some spices adding up the complexity. Very elegant and almost breeze-like.

Cooler on the nose compared to the overripe 05 side by side. Bit of cranberry. On the palate fine texture, a distinct pomegranate note (which later on I picked up again in the terrific Suchots 10), ripe but balanced and long. Best of the 5 Orveaux that evening - just edging the 12. This is terrific now but the best is yet to come. 94++ Confirms again that 2010 is the vintage of recent great vintages for red Burgundy.

Slightly spicy Pinot noir aromas with pronounced oak. Concentrated, soft and extremely elegant on the palate. (Guessed it was a Chambolle).
