  • Developed yellow color. Lovely, clean aromas of developed Chablis, crushed cockles etc. In the mouth, the typical Michel acidity: lemonlike, sharp and present, but also soft and seemless. Also a nice salinity. An extremely elegant wine, at the top now.

  • Solid, standard issue 1er Chablis, citrus and mineral, clean and pure.

  • Medium straw appearance but bright and healthy. Developed and attractive nose, with acacia, minerals and hints of lemon. Some nice smoky complexity. Medium bodied, but quite generous with citrus fruit then a prolonged, lightly honeyed mineral finish with lovely, trademark, tangy acidity. Some nice creamness on the mid-palate too. Really a nice surprise with good development but also still going strong. Excellent, suggesting previous bottle was indeed faulty.

  • Pale lemon. On the nose there was some mineral character with citrus and acacia but also slightly unpleasant wet wool and caramel notes. This was also present on the palate, along with more pleasant flavours of acacia and tangy citrus and a nice firm, refreshing acidity. Will have to try another of these to see how much of this was down to bottle variation, as there is a very good wine underneath this.
