  • In its peak drinking window, best decanted for 2 hours, and show red and dark fruit (black cherry), earth, mushrooms (the 'balsamic profile), and a long and delicious finish. Maybe it could last a few more years but why wait? Served with roasted rack of lamb.

  • no notes but remember this being quite nice over two nights, not a bottle to pay $125 for but if found for $80 then a pretty good QPR, seemed to be on the trad'l side of Barolo, just now coming into the drinking window and probably goes for another 15-20 years easy

  • 樱桃,腌渍樱桃,烟肉干,烟草,皮革,焦油,干花瓣,甘草,粉质中式香料(五香粉),凉凉的薄荷碎……甜香料奶油构成呈块状的桶味,颇大的架构,朦胧不清,香气蜷缩。入口紧缩,复杂粗壮,单宁强壮,把舌头前端拧做一团,不太细腻,酸度亦高,环绕口腔,骨架结实。干樱桃,酸樱桃,黑李子,青果和果脯带来浓缩的果味,烟熏,烘烤,泥土,甘草等香料。新鲜红紫花瓣,伴随果味和烟草气息,延伸到颇长余韵。

    三个小时后,花香绽放出来,酸度提升,依然很紧。

    第二天,玫瑰同紫罗兰盛开,鲜樱桃,樱桃酱,成熟红苹果同皮革,粉质香料和香草奶油的桶味整合在一起。在清晰的金属矿物线条勾勒中,工整俊朗,具有深度,些许清凉。入口通透度提升,单宁很强,还是很粗,酸度不错。果味丰富甜美,樱桃,樱桃脯,杏脯,绵沙的苹果肉,甘草渍梅。细碎烟草,草本,鲜薄荷碎,各种粉质辛香料,皮革,甜甜的桶味……在矿物硬线条的规整下现得结构齐整立体,余韵颇长,偶尔一丝茉莉花香。

    第三天,果味带酱感和果干味,八角茴香,桶味甜,和果味融合。入口单宁稍驯服,粉质不太细腻,整体感好些,比之前平瘦,八角香料,余味长,有奇异的青果味。89-90/100

  • Drunk alongside a 2000 Santo Stefano and a 2001 L. Pira Marenca, this was my clear favorite of the three. Suave and elegant, with a fine balance of fruit and taut minerality. A sweet, savory nose and great length round out the package.
