No note bc from memory but this had the same specific type of kerosene nose I get w other Diel wines (distinctive relative to other German Rieslings imo). This was incredible, though. Very nice balance of the RS and acid with the flavors being in a very good place in their evolution. I’d drink now.

I agree with SONOFFALSTAFF's notes, except I found the late palate attack a bit wearing, cloying. I'd also add that the nose had a lot of petrol at first, which I liked, a preamble to an interesting wine. If not for the imbalance in the late palate, a very good wine, well worth the wait, and could last another 3 years.

Just brilliant at 10 years old. Beautiful straw colour, honey and lemon nose with the usual floral overtones. Great complexity but delivered with a light fresh deft touch. Super length

(Schlossgut Diel Goldloch Riesling Spätlese) ($57.00) On its gross lees till March; and what an exotic concentrate of plums and vetiver and quince and verbena, smoldering down to an allspice and cardamom finish. Crazy! Fry some apple slices in sage butter, dust them with ginger and coriander and serve with a tarragon ice cream. There’s a Chinese green tea called Tai Ping which exactly three of you will have ever heard of but you three will remember its ethereal green sweetness. It’s here too.

Juicy and tart with sugar hitting late in the palate. Slatey, wet cement-like minerals. Needs time but very nice.
