To open this before the age of ten would be a shame and a great waste. I have seen this evolve from age five when it was super tight, inexpressive and one-dimensional to what it is today. It is one of the best from Ribera del Duero - a true classic. 95+

My third tasting on this bottle: Wow, finally, it opened up after five years of cellar time! Dark purple color turning crimson at the rim with a dense nose of perfumed, ripe currants, vanilla and licorice. The palate is full-bodied, dense and voluptuous with ripe black currant, plum, dark chocolate and smoke forming the core. Very expressive and bold, this is a great rendition of Felix Callejo wines. Finishes long and ripe with round, velvety tannins. 94+

Spanish Dinner with Exopto and Callejo Winemakers (Sydney, Australia): Graphite and earth, some some briar and perfumed florals. Nicely rich palate, with good depth and body. Savoury notes and classy fruit are really well balanced. Even though there is some bold red fruit that helps it to be drinking well now, there is potential over the medium term to improve.

Spanish Tasting (Oak Barrel, Elizabeth Street, Sydney): Deep ruby coloured with considerable legs. High intensity aromas of black fruit, jammy, plum and cherry, vanilla, sweet spice - cinnamon, cedar leather, chocolate and coffee. High tannin that is ripe and robust, medium plus acid, body and flavour intensity with flavours of chocolate, vanilla and plum and leather...the fruit carries on the long finish. Outstanding and lots of structure and balance.

Dark purple colour, dense nose and full body. Agree with most recent note here. Drinking well now but feels young at this point.
