Merchant blind tasting. This 2012 was served as a pair with the 2008 next to it. Rich, ripe nose with forest floor, cassis, vanilla. Tasted like a Napa Cab Sav. The 2008 had an additional savory elements, for me the slightly better wine.

Dark purple. Almost black. Full bodied. Medium tannin. Lush and velvety. Very full. Thick black fruits. Especially blackcurrants. Tried at a Corney and Barrow tasting

Drank this at SaLe Marino over a wine dinner last night with a group of wine lovers.
Dark purple in colour with smoky aromas musking layers of blackcurrant, prunes, leather, mushrooms, old cupboards and mocha. An impressive and complex wine, the vanilla and cream appeared at a later stage together with meat flavours.
This is a seriously good wine. On the palate, the wine is vivacious, with a streak of seriousness, elegance and presence. For a moment, time stood still; leaving one wondering whether there is enough to go round for a second or third serving.

Mini vertical 2008/2011/2013. Like the 2008 Biserno tasted before, this is also quite expressive on the nose - spicy, creamy, sweet dark fruit, smoke, tobacco. Very concentrated, creamy and dense on the palate as well. The tannins are rather soft and there is good acidity to keep everything in balance. Very persistent. 92-94

Deep purple, opulent. Won as a single bottle at HDH auction. I would get more of these. Mushroom, tannin. Thoroughly enjoyed. Coastal Western Tuscany.
