14% alcohol on the label (although the website states 14.5%). G 100%. Very long cork of vg quality. The colour is medium with moderate thinning at the rim. No sign of evolution though. The nose is complex and much more high pitched than what you would expect from Southern France Grenache; dried fruit and strawberry notes as well as some undergrowth. Nothing cooked here. The mouth is dominated by an unexpected acidic spine, not unpleasant at all, with a balsamic component. Very long and with good mouthfeel. Plenty of elegance here but little opulence, which is not a problem unless you are expecting it. Not a typical CndP but very good nevertheless, and pretty unique in my experience.

PNP with a 2010 Pegau. Pegau was slightly better (92). The structure on this was a bit backward, though it opened a bit with time Overall, if CdPs are your style (I love them) this is a pretty good representation at a very reasonable price. From what I’ve tasted so far, I think the 03 and 07 CdPs seem to have aged better, though this could just be timing so far.

Superbe ! nez complexe et fin, avec cette puissance sous-jacente du fruit du grenache, toucher de bouche ultra soyeux, on sent la recherche de la finesse ! magnifique
