With about an hour in glass this was quite stunning. Just starting to turn the corner from its youth and head into a long 2nd life. Dried cherry, with a hint of sous bois and full of minerality.

(New Year's Eve's... Eve ;-) Heart stopping Vosne. I feel like Etienne has been improving as a winemaker for 20 years. Too young if you believe primary fruit is a flaw, but otherwise, just gorgeous. You could see the aromas wafting through the air, like in old cartoons. What you hope opening a bottle of Vosne will be like.

(2010-tasting: Volnay x 3, Vosne x 3, Gevrey x 3) Full, rich and oaky nose. Almost chocolate. Dark fruit, dried herbs and hints of flowers and perfume. Deep and dense. But also some disturbing cabbage notes. Medium-fullish, fullish palate. Tannic. Cool dark fruit. Very nice concentration. Subtle and balanced. After a while Vosne spice and coffee emerge. Long. Not as expressive and lush as it came across many years ago when I scored this 96, which was too high. Drink now or cellar for up to 10 more years.

Best bottle to date, time has served it well and it is finally ready to enjoy as a pop and pour. No edges here, a seamless experience of fruit and spice. Improved over an hour in the glass. I expect this to continue to improve for quite some time, but it is lovely now.
