Grandissima forma

"More opulent and less austere than a pure Nebbiolo, but still elegant and precise. It's in perfect drinking condition, with tertiary aromas playing well in the glass with the other aromas...then the producer recommended opening it now, and I couldn't pass up this beautiful opportunity. It's in great form."

  • Fruit subdued. Cherries, dried roses. Medium plus tannins, medium acidity. Feels a bit dried out.

  • Tannins have finally softened, but this is still a very dry and austere style of wine as the fruit just lacks any sweetness. Earthy, mushroomy, black tea leaves, a bit of strawberry fruit and cherry flavors, bright acidity, slightly hot, quite persistent on the finish. Classy Italian food wine, but not much pleasure drinking it without food. - 88 points

  • P&P. Bistecca HK. Nose is giving off old world fruit, wood, alch. This is a dry Italian w some depth and heat. Pretty simple one dimensional so far. Not a complex
Wine but nice acidity and balance for Italian style steak.

  • Better than four years ago, but still young and rather unevolved, though the tannins have softened considerably. The fruit is somewhat suppressed, not sure if this will change anymore. Good acidity, hint of oak, juicy style. Good and classy Italian food wine. Not a wine to remember though. - 88 points
