En-Primeur campaign for the 2021 vintage; 4/25/2022-4/29/2022 (Bordeaux): From double magnum Leather, spiced plum and pan d’epices, a little forest floor as well, smells fresh though it is considerably denser on the palate, tannic mid palate grip is slight chalky, tight, a little alcohol warmth, flavours are here as well. Hmm

Bright colour deep and dark, the nose is also bright and light fruit. There is loss of mid palate - but this recovers somewhat with time (1 hour post opening). The tannins are fine. Enjoyable claret, but not notable.

Big juicy St Emillion that is starting to show well. Needs a bit of time in the decanter to loosen up a bit and to be honest it needs more aging time as well. Notes of coffee, liquorice; earth and mocha and some spice. In the mouth quite full but overall well balanced with some sweetness on the mid palate and the fruit showing well. The tannins are still there and probably need another couple of years to fade and let the wine develop some more complexity. This will be a belting wine in another 2 to 5 years. At the moment very good. Will definately buy again.
