  Fresh elegant nice spices etc still v young. Still red fruit showing.
  
  I was sadly feeling unwell during my visit to Domaine Ghislaine Barthod, so my tasting really did not do the wines justice. All were well very received by the rest of the group.

  Meals in France; 4/30/2022-5/6/2022 (France): Complex array of red berries and cherries on both nose and palate, with good+ weight, better length, and a complex cornucopia of enticing textures. Very good to start, nearly great when finished. Upside from here.

  À garder en mémoire: le Charmes de Mme Barthod est davantage à l'image du domaine qu'à l'image de l'archétype de Charmes. Donc davantage de structure, de tension que de fruit "charmant". Les vins du domaine sont sérieux et pour la longue garde: celui-de ne fait pas exception. À garder encore quelques années pour y trouver la complexité attendue.

This was showing some gassy notes on the nose but underneath was beautiful notes of dark pinot fruit, floral and earth. Great complexity on the nose. In the mouth there’s lots of acidity with firm and powdery tannins. Well-balanced and a silky texture. Minerality coming through on the lengthy finish. This is going to be really good. (91-93+)
