A lovely mature bottle. Bright, sweet black cherries, spice and twigs and earth, nicely savory, good midpalate density, silky tannins, good length. Perhaps just drying out just a hint at the back. A success.

Brick in color, opens with funky odors that blow off after about a 1-hour decant. Fruit emerges at about an hour and a half, and when fully oxygenated, shows all the classic cues of an aged Burgundy. Sadly, about 3 years past its prime, but still delicious, powerful and interesting. Drink up!

Decided to open this at the 35th Anniversary Double Duck dinner in Oakland. Cork was a bit problematic, but the wine was just lovely. Initially a bit reticient on the nose with a spicy, forest floor element; on the palate this was like velvet; not a hard edge anywhere and a very long and deep finish. This didn't fade significantly until the end of the bottle and was one of the top 5 California pinot noirs I've ever tasted in terms of drinking pleasure and maturity. Certainly shows the Littorai reds and whites both can age very very well. Now One Acre needs to mature so it can be back in production! Bravo.

Past its prime, unfortunately. Hints of its glorious past.
