Listed at 14.4% ABV. Open about five hours, and holding up well. Ripe black fruit, Anderson Valley appleskin/citrus, smoke, earth, sous bois, meatiness. The fruit mostly takes a back seat to the earthy/savory flavors, framed by plenty of silky extract Perhaps getting just a bit short on the back end.

Not a pristine bottle; cork was soaked all the way up one side, and the wine had a distinct volatile twinge on the finish. Otherwise quite nice, ripe, concentrated dark fruit with a tart appleskin edge (very Anderson Valley), some nice earthy/foresty nuance, silky tannins, good acidity. Would have liked to try a clean bottle.

Hard to believe how well this wine continues to show. Drank over several days and it is still singing. Dark colour, exuberant nose, lush fruit on the palate and then a long finish with soft tannins still quite evident. Still has many years ahead of it. Could easily be mistaken for a top Burgundy. Drink or (believe it or not) hold.

Fantastic mature nose, with great complexity. Long and intense, displaying secondary aromas and a very balanced frame, with delightdul acidity and soft tannins. Infiltrated as a decoy on a double blind tasting of Burgundy from the 90´s, it came out in a unanimous 1st, beating such luminaries as DRC Romanee Saint Vivant, Leroy Volnay Champans, and Dujac Charmes Chambertin, all from good to excelent vintages. Great showing from this top producer of Burgundy (ops... California!)
