  Nice rich ruby color. Potent nose consisting of a slight barnyard minerality, dark cherry fruit. On the palate some spiciness comes out, it reminded me of the artificial fruit flavor you'd find in processed candies. My wife got a sense of band-aids and leather. Definitely different, I quite enjoyed it and found it interesting, but my wife was not into it. I tend to enjoy Italian wines overall more than she does, she does not seem to care for many of the typical flavors in most Italian wines so take that info as you will. The finish is a little acidic, giving a bitter sensation as the flavors recess. Overall at the price point, I'd say worth a try just to mix things up and expose your palate to different wines.

  Dark red tree fruits, some sandalwood and Italian cooking spices, short acidic finish detracted from the soft nose and rich texture. Was great with starchy and cheesy dishes with cutting acidity.
