Community Tasting Notes (2)

  • Light gold. On the nose this is a bit musty with some mushrooms, lemon peels, honey. On the palate more mushrooms, minerals, lemon. This is slightly thick, off dry and a bit bitter. The finish is short and hot (14.5%).
It got better on the second night with less mushroom notes and a better balance. The alcohol is not dominating the finish anymore, it is still present but better integrated. Interesting wine.

  • (at Gramercy Tavern – New York) no formal notes. Pale golden in color. Outstanding nose that screams Alsace. Honeysuckle, spice and a wonderful depth and richness. This wine has a wonderful combination of richness and fine delineation. The flavors are intense, yet are not heavy and they last and last. This is very serious and very very good. Opened beautifully. A real winner. (18.5) I must say that I have greatly enjoyed wines from this producer - a sleeper in my book.
