  • Definitely old and probably long over its prime but still drinking nicely. Unexpected!
Nose lacks fresh fruit, more a combination of prunes and pepper and …
Taste is still fresh with ripe cherries and sweet. Alcohol is noticeable, even in 1999 this wine already managed to get to 14.5%.
    Aftertaste is pleasant, not long.
I had to decant as the cork did not come out in one piece but the wine is holding well. Second glass is even better than the first one as the temperature has risen to around 16 degr celsius.

  • Something wrong here, tastes like jam and BBQ sauce.

  • Decanted and poured back into bottle 2hrs before serving and slow-oxed. On the nose, dense perfumed black fruit, tinged with more mature leathery notes, that finished with a strongly mineral aroma. Huge port like flavors on the palate, initially over the top and with almost granular intensity. After an hour the wine mellowed into a creamy texture. Fascinating if a little too large scaled, but doesn't come across as over extracted or manipulated, just a reflection of its origins.

  • Tasted blind. Jovial nose with floral notes, cherries, and hints of spice. Bright cherry fruit up front, good full acidity. Cherry lollipop. Addictive. Style is familiar yet new in other respects. Good stuff.

  • Tasted blind, this wine just sang and danced. But for the mineral/cherry character, this was hard to guess as Priorat. At a perfect stage now, it was a seamless balance between succulent fruit and a firm backbone. Juicy acidity and subtle, very well integrated oak, the wine was long and lovely. I am a huge fan of this property and they deserve to be much more well known.
