Second bottle of eight in the cellar is showing far better. This is a lighter, more ethereal expression of Priorat terroir, and I love it. The wine has a pronounced slate-y mineral note that drives the wine. The fruit plays second fiddle for sure, showing cherries, plums, and red berries. There’s a garrigue note here too with a touch of pepper, likely from the Syrah in the blend. Very complex wine. Only knocks is a slight touch of VA here, and I do mean slight. Some will appreciate the added complexity it brings, so will find it a flaw. I’m somewhere in between. Great acid and structure here despite being Grenache dominant, and I suspect the wine will happily age another 15 years with ease.

It's too young to drink. Beautiful dark fruits, notes of plums and figs, followed by some black tea and a spiced finish. The ABV is low on this but the finish is elegant yet rustic. The balanced acidity, lovely weight and grippy tannins on the finish gave the hint that this wine has a lot of potential. This has several years to go, the depth is wonderful.

Holding back score because my first bottle was slightly corked. Even still, there was a lot of complexity here with red fruit and some brett that worked well to add rusticity. Texturally phenomenal, I have 5 more of these, so hoping those each improve on this first unlucky bottle.

Another solid, medium bodied Clos Martinet Priorat from my cellar. Have a few left
