15.5% alcohol, screw top, long legs, nose of fruit & alcohol, full bodied, taste of berries and also something strong & chemically (citrus, not-so-good berries); either this wine can't stand much aging, or it had been improperly bottled or cellared; not rated; not recommended

Massive nose of black cherries and a smidge of heat lead to a front of sour cherries and oddly a bit of citrus. Mid-palate shows the richness of dates and even a little fig but its backed up well with a moderate acidity. The finish is short and hot as this one tops 15.5 percent (yowza!). This is not the Pinot for the classic Burgundy lover but its a good one for the new world wino :-) My rating is a "New-World" 91

A giant pinot noir. A restrained nose of ripe fruit belies the power of this wine in the mouth. My first impression is of chocolate covered raisins wrapped inside a plum. Gradually the raisin flavor subsides. A very good, very different wine that is not typical of this varietal, but nevertheless rewarding.

Big, voluptuous, and fruit forward...a rambunctious and delicious expression of Pinot Noir from California's Central Coast. The level of extraction here will likely not appeal to those who prefer "delicate" Pinots, or to those who might wish to miraculously superimpose Burgundy onto the U.S. west coast. This is California Pinot in fine form - vivacious, flavorful, and pure...just as it should be. Therein lies its beauty and pleasure.

Big and bold, but well balanced for a young wine.
