It needed a little time to open up a bit. Its a fairly big Barossa shiraz tempered by a bit of viognier. There's still a fair amount of black fruit but with a bit of black pepper and 5 spice. Tannin is a little aggressive at the end.

This looked pretty awkward on opening but was much more pleasant after an hour or so. It is a big chocolatey wine that is probably a bit warm with a tad too much oak to be a really good wine but it made for pleasant enough drinking overall.

Concentrated black red colour with hint of purple. Nice nose of Milk chocolate, cinamons, vanila, black and red fruits, hint of spricot. On the mouth close to full bodied, rich and good balance with acidity and tannins. Personally I prefer the Pirathon shiraz and it is slightly cheaper than this. Spend alittle more and get Greenock shiraz. Alot better wine. I never liked white grape in red wine!

Be careful of United Cellars in Sydney: They called me telling me that because I had bought from them before, they had a good deal for me.
But were economical with the truth describing this as a wine that would normally sell at $90, and that they had a "small allocation" because of a "lost export order" and it was for sale by the case at $25 per bottle.
While this is a good wine,a $90 wine it is not and on no other site is it listed at anything more than around $25.
Be very careful of silver tongued salesmen bearing promises of bargain priced wine. I will not fall for it again.

Blackberry fruit, lots of spice, reminds me of mulled wine with its clove and nutmeg character, has a certain sweetness. Spice is way too overpowering however and fruit is subdued. Lots of perfume from the petit verdot and viogner on the nose. Grippy tannins. Very good length, but not a fan of the blend. Much better the next day, tannins firmed up but more importantly fruit balance was restored.
