holding up very well, but in the old Lafon style of reds with too much extraction. Monolithic, almost barolo-like. But hey it's 19 years old and still vital despite it's flaws. Even though it does not present the finesse we always search for in burgundies, I enjoyed it. And the label drinker in me always appreciates anything drinkable from this address :-P

not the most complex wine ever made but it's got some nice charm going on for the appellation. Will without a doubt last for decades and further cellaring is recommended (since we've missed the youthful stage). Full maturity is going to take quite a bit of time.

The aroma is full of sweet peaty earth, pine needles, red fruits and a little espresso. It is fresh, vibrant and crunchy in the mouth as energetic tart cranberry fruits splash around the gums. It is a little angular but nicely detailed and perfumed and a wine that has not yet reached its peak and was ripping value on release.

Sharp acidity. A bit austere on nose. Rather dark on palate. Some dimension to it. With airtime, fruit comes forward, but tannins intensify as well. Could age.

11/7/2015 - Tom Henriksveen Does not like this wine:
Unbalanced and acidic, a big disapointment. first glass drinkable with a rich cream sauce, but after that the fruit was completely gone.
